Trip Introduction

Our Manaslu and Annapurna Trek with Tilicho lake links the trek around Manaslu with the Annapurna region trails and further explores the Jomsom area. During this trip, we also cross the Larkya La Pass (5,135m/16,847ft), the highest point on the Manaslu Circuit and Thorang La Pass(5,416m/17,769ft), the highest point on the Annapurna Circuit and visit the beautiful Tilicho Lake (4,949m/16,138 ft), one of the highest lakes in the world which also holds a great religious and cultural significance for Hindus. The trip begins in the beautiful Kathmandu city and will take you up the mountains where you will have the grandest views of some of the highest mountains in the world.

Trekking around Manaslu offers a unique opportunity to experience a reasonably untouched region of Nepal while Annapurna region is one of the most popular trekking destinations in the world.  Combine these two with a visit to Tilicho Lake, and you get our unique Manaslu and Annapurna Trek with Tilicho Lake’s itinerary. Also, this trek takes you from a mere 710m/2328ft to 5416m/17,769ft where you get to be a part of a rich variety of natural landscapes and cultural heritage that Nepal so proudly boasts.

Physical Condition & Experience Requirements

Walking in the high lands of Annapurna and Manaslu region usually requires 5-6 hours of walking everyday and some days even up to 8-10 hours- such as in high passes. Himalayan Glacier suggests we get prepared with about 10-12 km of walking or jogging exercise every day before 3 months of our trip so we will be able to walk in physically demanding high-altitude conditions and remote areas for many days for hours at a time.

To join the Manaslu to Tilicho Trek and to complete it successfully and enjoyably, we must have: lots of willpower, ability to tolerate harsh conditions, very high level of fitness and good health. It is vital that participants with pre-existing medical problems or conditions make these known to Himalayan Glacier at the time of booking. Medical and evacuation expenses are the responsibility of the participant. It is also important that we consult our doctor for vaccination and other medical requirements for our trip. Himalayan Glacier reserves the right to require a medical certificate prior to booking our trip.

Typical day in Trekking …

At dawn, our Sherpa wakes us up and offers a cup of warm tea with a smile. After freshening and finishing up our tea, we will have a hearty breakfast before setting off. After approximately 3 or more hours of trekking, we take a break for lunch somewhere in the trail. Throughout the day, we will take frequent rest breaks and take time to admire and take pictures of the fascinating scenery. After a relaxing lunch, we typically spend around 2-3 hours or even more sometimes on the trail before reaching our destination. Once we reach our destination for the night, we take a brief rest, and have a light snack with tea or coffee. Further, we might even enjoy a short walk through the village and surrounding neighborhoods or enjoy some games or chats with our group members while the cook and helpers prepare dinner. Finally, our guide briefs us on the next day’s program before we go to sleep.

Best Season

The best months are September, October and November during the Autumn season and mid March, April and May during the spring season.
