Our 4 days Langtang easyTrek in the northeast of the Kathmandu Valley, away from the crowds, explores a region only recently opened to tourism. You will stay in local Lodges and experience the warmth and spirit of the Tamang people, their culture, Buddhist beliefs and lifestyle.
From Kathmandu a 132km 8-9 hour bus ride follows the torturous and scenically exciting road through the Middle hills to Syabru Besi. It then continues on a secondary road up to Chilime, a village on the Chilime Khola from Tibet. There is an interesting Gompa here.
The Langtang short trek from Chilime to Tatopani gradually climbs through farmlands and deep subtropical forest, passed several high waterfalls to highlands with magnificent views of snow covered peaks. Lunch and swim at hot springs at Tatopani. Then, continue to a great viewpoint of the Ganesh and Langtang Himals along the Tibetan border before trekking up to Nagthali Ghyang for the night: and fantastic sunrise photographic possibilities.
Trek to Thuman for Lunch, and then join the ancient trade route from Tibet along the Bhote Koshi Nadi down to Syabru Besi: a lively village at the confluence of two rivers. Return to Kathmandu the next morning.
